Gail Gunder passed away on August 20, 2025 at the age of 74, after a brief illness.

She was born in Wichita, Kansas to Lamont and Frieda Garrett. She was a long time Paris resident having moved to the area with her young family in 1983. She dedicated her life to the health and well-being of her community. As a registered nurse, she served many roles in both direct patient care and education. Her passion for healthcare persevered through many tough times, including during her own diagnosis of and treatment for cancer. Upon her retirement, she continued her many hobbies including knitting, sewing, miniature crafting, and gardening. She enjoyed her various irises, most especially her beloved grape irises, whose bulbs she imported from her grandparents' Kansas farm.

She will be greatly missed by her sister, Ann Garrett, of Boston; her sons, Adam (Elizabeth) Gunder, of Minneapolis & Alan (Brandie) Gunder, of Paris; and by her five granddaughters, Elizabeth, Grace, Evelyn, Maddox, and Aubrie.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. A memorial will be held at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home on September 27, 2025 at 11 am.
