He was born on October 14, 1932 in Grapevine, Texas a son of Luke Ray and Gladys Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert was a heavy equipment operator, was caretaker for several cemeteries and was a Baptist. Art married Irene Mae Alston on October 28, 1950. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2015.
He is survived by his children, Danny Gilbert and Pamela McNabb and spouse Jimmy, 8 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Gilbert will be remembered as a good husband, father and Poppy. He was caring and generous to his fellow man.
