Mildred "Mopsey" Irene Hartley, 90, passed away on December 16, 2023, in Lawrenceville, GA.
Mopsey as she was affectionately known, was born to the late Cecil and Louella Finley. Reunited with the love of her life of 60 years Glenn Hartley, Sr, she is also preceded in death by her brothers; Charles Finley and John Finley.
Mopsey is also survived by children, Renee and Chuck Boone, Lawrenceville, GA, Glenda and Randy Gunter, Oviedo, FL, and Glenn Jr. and Robin Hartley, Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Chad and Chandra Boone, Ashley and Andrew Tillman, Jenny Gunter Reeves and husband, David Reeves, Samantha Hartley, Sydney Hartley, and Erika Hartley; four great grandchildren, Dourden Boone, Addison Reeves, Kate Reeves, and Mason Hartley
Mopsey was a devoted mother, raising her family with boundless love and compassion. Her family remained a source of immense pride and joy throughout her life. Their unbreakable bond demonstrated the depths of a mother's love that she taught to her children by example. She was most forgiving and loving person you could have the honor to know.
Mopsey was a successful entrepreneur, building her own business from her own sweat, determination and the love of one of her hobbies.
She also worked in the banking industry for over 20 years. She was a woman of many talents and hobbies. Her hands deftly molded ceramics and porcelain, creating beautiful works of art with her artistic touch. Known for her culinary skills, Mopsey's kitchen was a sanctuary of warmth and love. Her legendary fried chicken and delectable chicken and dumplings brought comfort and nourishment to all fortunate enough to savor her creations.
