Mildred Pearl Holden, born November 11, 1933, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the age of 91. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with burial following at Friendship Cemetery in Pine Prairie.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist church where she taught Sunday School and vacation bible school for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and later her husband, J.R.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, John R. Holden. Her daughters Karen Griffith, Wanda Dupre and husband John Ellis; Son Cody Glenn Griffith wife Candy. Stepchildren: Glenn Holden, wife Dee Lynn Holden, Theresa Bailey husband Murphy, Bobby Holden wife Nicky; Her sisters Viola Whittington, Sandy Andrepont and brother Joe Andrepont. 12 Grandchildren: Amy Fontenot (Barry), Andi Fontenot (Kevin), Cody Evan Griffith (Monica) Erin Campell (Scott), Mikey Fontenot (Blair), Matt Fontenot, Michelle Fontenot, Courtney Goudeau, Charlie Fournerat (Tim); Step-Grandchildren: Adam Holden, Katie Holden, Shawn Bailey, Kayla Bailey, Cully Holden, Cruz Holden; She also leaves 17 great-grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild- Elle Catherine Fontenot
She is proceeded in death by her mother Elizabeth Gautreaux Andrepont, father, Martin Andrepont, first husband, Cody Griffith, Sister, Joyce Elliot, Stepbrother, Donald Andrepont, Son-in-law Charles Goudeau, niece Beth Elliot
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayou Chicot on Friday, March 7,2025 at 10:00 am until the time of service,
