Mildred Clemintine Holland, age 89, of Big Sandy, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton, Ohio. Mrs. Holland was born on February 27, 1934 in Big Sandy, TN to the late Raymond Porter Merrell and the late Bertha Ann Berry Merrell. She was also preceded in death by first husband, Ray Sterling; second husband, James W. Holland; son, Donald Ray Sterling; brothers, Wayne Merrell, Ray Merrell, Charles “Buddy” Merrell, Howard Merrell; sisters, Mae Pierpoint, Elsie Lowery; and grandson, Donald Lloyd Sterling. Mrs. Holland was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Big Sandy, TN. She loved flowers, cooking, cake decorating and gardening. She also loved to sing and sang with family members in church and in local nursing homes.

Daughter: Teresa Nelson of Canton, OH
Sister: Clara Wade of Big Sandy, TN
Grandchildren: Patrick Nelson, Lt. Col. Kenneth Ryan (Christyn) Sterling, Angela Combs, Miranda (Alex) Rains

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM and again on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2 PM at the Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Big Sandy with Bro. Andrew Wilhite officiating. Burial will follow in Lowery Cemetery.
