Mildred Kathryn “Millie” Lloyd, 88, of Conrad, Iowa, passed away December 15, 2025, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Creps Chapel in Eldora. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mildred was born in Parkersburg, Iowa, on July 21, 1937; the daughter of David and Gertrude (Mehmen) Benning. Mildred attended Ackley Community Schools where she graduated in 1955.

Millie was united in marriage to Harold Lloyd on October 7, 1955. They soon thereafter purchased a farm near Gifford, Iowa, where they lived the majority of their married lives until July of 2023. They then moved to Conrad, Iowa. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past October.

Millie worked various jobs including Hardin County Extension Service for several years. In 1978 she was elected the first female Hardin County Supervisor serving the citizens of Hardin County for 16 years.

Millie enjoyed staying active which included bowling and golf, where she was a member of South Hardin Recreation Area, serving on the board and volunteering many hours in the clubhouse. She also was an active member of Kiwanis serving as president and volunteering at the local theater in Eldora. She loved spending time with family and friends. After retirement she enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Harold; son David (Jan) Lloyd of Eldora, Iowa; grandsons Brent (Amanda) Lloyd of Carroll, Iowa and Jason (Meghan) Lloyd of Eldora, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Carson, Addelyn, Harper, Hannah and Haylee; sister Mary (Elston) Buls; and brother Carl (Wanda) Benning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Mary Jane Lloyd of Bradenton, Florida.
