Mildred A. Mayson, 96, devoted wife of 71 years to the late W. Freddie Mayson, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Born in Thomson, GA, she was a daughter of the late Press Homer and Emma Lou Brown.
A talented seamstress, Mildred dedicated many years to her craft at Stone Manufacturing. Her skilled hands not only fashioned garments, but also wove stories of care, comfort, and creativity into the beautiful dresses that brought joy to countless individuals. Mildred was a woman of God, whose unwavering faith and compassion touched the lives of those around her. She embodied kindness and love, always being a sweet friend and a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In her later years, Mildred and Freddie found great joy in traveling across the United States in their motorhome, embracing adventures and creating cherished memories along the way. Her zest for life and spirit of exploration left an indelible mark on her loved ones.
Mildred was a dedicated and faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was in the women's Sunday School class.
Her legacy of love and faith will continue on with her loving children, Dale Mayson and Judy Huffman; two grandsons, Neal Huffman and Keith Huffman and wife, Tosha; seven adoring great grandchildren, Hannah Huffman Collins and husband, Ryan, Wyatt, Marley, Mayson, Turner, Syler Huffman, and Tessa Hill; two wonderful great great grandchildren, Asher and Aliyah Collins; brother, Ed Brown and wife, Sharon.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Jane Mayson; and son-in-law, Randy Huffman; granddaughter, Amy Swee; and great grandson, Logan Ashton Huffman.
A graveside service to honor Mildred will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens officiated by the Reverend Deana Gentry.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the love and care given to Mildred from Traditions Hospice and the staff at Viva Senior Living, formally known as the Retreat.
