Mildred (Millie) Jean Case Mellberg died at the age of 95 on August 3, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1930 in Sumpter, Oregon to Ethel McKnight and James Benson Case.

She married James Frank Provost and had a daughter. After divorcing James, she married Leonard Isaac Christofferson in 1954 and had a son. After her marriage to Leonard ended, Milled married Clyde Mellberg on July 24, 1964 in Jackson, Wyoming.

Millie worked early on as a stenographer and later as an educator in the Salt Lake Valley.

She lived in several states during her 95 years: Utah, Texas, Oregon, Wyoming and Montana. After Clyde's death on September 4, 2002, Millie set up permanent residency in West Yellowstone, Montana. She resided there until she moved into assisted living in Bozeman, Montana. In August of 2024, she moved to Taylorsville, Utah where she lived until her death.

Millie loved living in West Yellowstone riding her horse and associating with the friends she made there. She built two beautiful homes and loved to furnish them with western décor. She will be missed by her Montana friends.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and Clyde. She is survived by her two children.

Thanks to Josh Fogg and the staff at The Springs in Bozeman for all they did to make Millie feel welcomed and comfortable. Also, thanks to Grant and Barbara Moulton for helping Millie during her declining years and to the staff at Mountain Peak Memory Care for their dedicated service.
