Mildred Irene Paar, 89, of Polo, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home in Polo, with her family by her side. She worked as a cashier for Del Farm Grocery in Dubuque, IA, for over 25 years.
Mildred was born on May 30, 1936, in Holdenville, OK, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Stafford) Cravens. She married Frederick R. Paar on July 5, 1956. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2014. Mildred loved to read, acquiring quite-the vast collection of books. She also loved thrifting, where she collected her books, coffee mugs, Fenton Art Glass, and crystal. Above all Mildred was proud of her family and loved them all endlessly.
Mildred is survived by her children, Susan Hagen, Michael (Sherry) Paar, Christopher (Beth) Paar, Janet (Richard) Peterson, Michelle Irvine; brother, John (Donna) Craven; sister, Betty Dunkle; grandchildren, Nicholaus Weydert, Katrina Stroh, Heather Contreras, Dennis Stroh, Paul Paar, Lucas Paar, Cory Paar, Adam Paar, Janiece Craven, Trevor Paar, Trey Carr, Tyler Paar, Timothy Paar; great-grandchildren, Jordan Stroh, Tatum Stroh, Riley Stroh, Ryder Stroh, Xavier Contreras, Grey Contreras, Dallas Weydert; Chance Patton, Hannah Paar, Alex Paar, Dylan Paar, Cecilia Paar, Luna, Caleb, Amelia Paar, Tyrone Paar, Michael, Ventus Paar; and one great-great grandchild, Micah Moses:
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Frank (Kathy) Cravens.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics and/or Toys for Tots.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
