Mildred C. Rispoli

Mildred C. Rispoli, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born and raised in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Concetta (Carella) Cella. She resided in Newark before moving to Bloomfield 60 years ago.
Mrs. Rispoli earned a Bachelor's Degree in English and Dramatic Arts from Upsala College. She later served as the practice administrator and patient liaison for the medical practice of her husband, Dr. Philip A. Rispoli. She was a proud member and past president of the Essex County Medical Auxiliary and had also served as a member of the Bloomfield Township Committee.
Mildred was known for her kindness, sharp wit, deep devotion to her family and love of animals. She cherished spending time with loved ones, cooking exquisite dinners, and had a deep passion for the arts. An avid supporter of many charities benefiting veterans, police and children. She had numerous intellectual interests and a natural linguistic talent speaking three languages. Her warm smile and generosity touched the lives of many.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip A. Rispoli, MD, and is survived by her loving children, Gabriel P. Rispoli and his wife, Ann DiPaolo; Lauren C. Rispoli and her husband, Richard Piro; and Philip A. Rispoli, Jr. and his wife, Heather V. Rispoli. She was also the adored grandmother of Christian G. Rispoli, Alyssa Rispoli, Philip A. Rispoli III, and Vincent G. Rispoli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass for Mrs. Rispoli at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 9:30 AM, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), a charity that was especially close to Mildred's heart.
