Mildred B. Smith, 92, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Landings of Oregon. Mildred was born on July 2, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio to Charles D. and Mabel O. (Zoll) Fately. Milly went to Raymer Elementary School and was a graduate of Waite High School (Class of 1951). She married her childhood sweetheart Robert S. Smith on January 17, 1953, and was married for 47 years until his passing in October 2000. She had worked in food service for Toledo Public Schools at Raymer and Garfield Elementary Schools, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed crafting, baking, gardening, reading, cats, camping and spending time with her family.

Mildred is survived by her children, Michael R., Susan M. Smith., Linda S. Rock., Robert P. (Rosalinda), and Thomas M.(Melissa), 16 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren and brother-in-law Richard Smith.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert S. Smith; son, James; daughter-in-law Roberta Smith; siblings David Fately, and Inez Stephenson, Grandson Anthony G. Stribling, Jr. and Great-grandson Davion Stribling and her very best friend for over 60 years, Alice Horn.

In accordance with Mildred's wishes there will be no visitation or services. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Helping Hands of St. Louis or Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes). The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at The Landings of Oregon and Hospice of NW Ohio for the kindness, patience and loving care that was given to our mother during her stay.
