Mildred Grace Suchecki, 99, formerly of Williamsburg and Leeds passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Mildred was born in Northampton. The daughter of Erich and Catherine (Phelps) Sahn. Mildred attended local schools and graduated from Northampton High School in 1944. She worked for many years as a telephone Operator with New England Telephone and later at Smith College before retiring. She married Edward C. Suchecki, and they enjoyed decades of family, memories and happiness together in Williamsburg over 37 years and later in Leeds. Mildred was very active as her children grew up, volunteering with the Brownies and Girl Scout Troops. She sang with the Hilltones for many years and was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking and canning in her spare time. Her husband, Edward Suchecki predeceased her as well as her siblings, Catherine Wilkinson, Paula Wentworth and Dora Duggan. She leaves her children; Dave Suchecki and his wife Kathy of Easthampton, Linda Davenport and her husband Abe of Montague, Sandra Lockwood of Easthampton and Lisa Proietti and her husband Mike of New York as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her caring attitude and gentle way were a source of comfort to others. Mildred will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. The family would like to thank Dr. Chaudhry & Meghan, RN of Summit Elder Care, who gave compassionate care to our mother. We also would like to thank the staff at Heritage Woods for their kindness & support during her stay. At Mildred’s request all services will be private, and she will be buried alongside her husband, Edward Suchecki in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Northampton. Donations in Mildred’s name may be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA. 01105
