Mildred Virginia True, 95, of Flintstone, died Friday at UPMC-Western Maryland.
Born October 18, 1928, in Manns Choice, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Eldon and M. Gladys Shipway.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy True, and her brother, J.R. "Dick" Shipway.
Mildred grew up and worked at Shipway's Inn and Restaurant, Green Ridge on U.S. 40, owned and operated by her parents. She worked there from early childhood to 1974.
Mildred was well known at Ali Ghan Shrine, having worked as a waitress from 1975 to 2017. She enjoyed serving the many members and guests.
Mildred belonged to Re Temple #118, Daughters of the Nile.
She loved NASCAR racing. Mildred and Guy attended many races for the first 50 years of NASCAR.
She also loved planting and growing flowers, as well as decorating their home for all holidays.
Mildred enjoyed watching TV Christian ministries and reading her Bible.
She was a very generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her son, John True, and wife, Wanda; grandson, Jonathan "Dusty" True, and wife, Amanda; and great grandchildren, Dustin and Abigail.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon, with Preacher J.R. Barnes, officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Artemas, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Ali Ghan Shrine Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21501-1416 or to The Children's Place, P.O. Box 267, Cumberland, MD 21502-0267.
