Reverend Mildred Gaither Walker

Saluda, SC: Reverend Mildred Gaither Walker of 167 Abney Nursery Road, the widow of Francis (Bubba) Walker transition from this life into eternal rest Monday, September 8, 2025 in Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Iredell, North Carolina, on December 29, 1941, daughter of the late James and Edna Louise Bailey Gaither. She was education in the public schools of North Carolina. She was a member of Mt. Moses CME Church and an ordained minister and she retired as pastor of Pine Pleasant CME Church. She was also a member of Satterwhite-Brown Order of Eastern Star's Chapter No. 26. Reverend Walker also worked as a patient sitter for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, Francis Maurice (Bubba) Walker, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Frank Westmoreland, Billy Gaither, Peter Gaither, Harry Phifer, Kenneth Phifer and Harry Gaither and Rachel Delores Phifer.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; son, Gary Winford (Talitha Houston) of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grand; two sister, Robbin Gaither of Queens, NY and Annie Tartt of Bronx, NY; three sisters-in-law, Cynthia Elaine (David) Downing of Saluda, SC, Libby Ruth Walker of Los Angles, CA and Jacqueline (Louis) Berkel of New Orleans; brother-in-law, George H. Moore of Saluda, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friend.
