Miles Aldridge, 96, of Clanton, Alabama passed away September 1, 2023, at Residence in Clanton, AL.
He was born December 30, 1926, in Alabama, son of Floyd C. Aldridge and Leila E. Aldridge.
Miles served 10 years during World War II and the Korean War; 1950-1953. He served as Engineering Officer in the U. S. Merchant Marines one year and 9 years as Senior Lt. USNR. He served aboard Bay Class Troup Transports delivering 6,000 troops to foreign fronts and retrieving the wounded. He also served aboard two AOs. Miles retired after 32 years as a Petroleum Engineer for Atlantic Richfield and then worked for W.H. Thomas Oil Company as a Petroleum Consultant.
Surviving are his Daughter, Patricia A. (David) Conlee, Son, James C. (Patty) Aldridge, Daughter, Cynthia Aldridge Windham, 4 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson, 3 Great Granddaughters, 5 Great Grandsons, Special Friend and Caretaker, Mindy McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Patricia Elizabeth Broadhead Aldridge, Father, Floyd C. Aldridge, Mother, Leila E. Aldridge.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at West End Baptist Church.
Services will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm. at West End Baptist Church with officiating.
Interment will follow in Clanton City Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, Miles requests that donations be made to Butterfly Bridge Children's Advocacy Center P.O. Box 588, Clanton, AL 35046
