A cherished father, grandfather, brother, and uncle entered into eternal rest on April 5, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Oxnard, California, on March 8, 1954, he attended Channel Islands High School.
Walter took great pride in being a father to Anthony Ortiz, Rachel Ortiz, Yvette Alatiz, Walter III Ortiz, Jacob Ortiz, Jason Gutierrez, Janis Ortiz, Sandra Ortiz, and Cristal Ortiz, He is survived by his brothers, George and Paul Ortiz, and his sister, Eva Flint. He also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, each of whom he loved profoundly and held dear to his heart. Despite a challenging upbringing and a tumultuous life, Walter exemplified resilience. He was a strong man who faced every challenge with unwavering determination. He had a passion for spending time at the beach, relishing the moments spent fishing and listening to oldies with his nephew Robert. He enjoyed a good laugh while getting a kick at trash talking,he cherished cookouts, watching Nascar, and wrestling with his grandchildren.
May he rest in peace in paradise, watching over us always. We invite you to join us for his memorial service on Saturday, May 10, at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home. The service will take place from 2 PM to 3PM.
