Milton Burner, 87, West Fargo, ND died on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Milton James Burner was born on March 2, 1928 to Carl and Louise (Knudson) Burner in Crosby, ND. The family moved to West Fargo when Milt was three years old. He attended school in West Fargo. On June 15, 1947, Milton was united in marriage to Jean Nelson at St. John's Lutheran Church at Horace, ND. They made their home in West Fargo and were blessed with 5 children. Milt worked for the Cass County Highway Department for 34 years, retiring in 1990. He was a great dad and grandpa. His greatest joy was bragging about his family and the grandchildren. Milt and Jean spent many summers at their lake home on Middle Cormorant Lake. Milt kept the yard up to perfection and welcomed visitors. Milt is survived by his wife, Jean; three children: Jim (Viki) Burner, Apache Junction, AZ, Terry (Gail) Burner, West Fargo and Kent Burner, Kindred, ND; grandchildren: Dr. James Burner, Bobbie (Andrea) Burner, Tom Burner, Tim (LaRissa) Burner, Trisha (Brandon Claeys) Burner; great grandchildren: Jordyn Burner, Kacie Burner and Lillian Burner; and three sisters, Phyllis (Duane) Flick, Bismarck, ND, Beverly Lee, Fargo and Sharon (Larry) Christiansen, West Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Dean and Keith. Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo. Funeral: Saturday at 10 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
