Milton Wray "Junior" Campbell, age 94, of Versailles, passed away peacefully at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was born November 25, 1927, in Morgan County, to James Milton and Emma Lee (Ratcliff) Campbell.
Junior graduated from Versailles High School where he was a member of the 1947 basketball team that took second place in the state championship.
He married Lois K. Moser on November 2, 1949, in California, Missouri. They enjoyed 70 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death in 2020.
Junior worked for Kansas City Bifocal Company, Dixon Ticonderoga Pencil Factory and Nolting's, building long arm quilting machines. He mostly enjoyed attending sporting events for his grandsons. He also enjoyed raising cattle for many years.
Junior is survived by his children, David (Brenda) Campbell, Melinda Campbell, Wray (Cheryl) Campbell all of Versailles, Missouri and Brian (Cindy) Campbell of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandsons, Nick (Jamie) Campbell of Eagle Lake, Texas, Andy Campbell of Beaverton, Oregon and Zach and Cole Campbell of Jefferson City, Missouri; a step-great-granddaughter, Lilly and future great-grandson of Eagle Lake, Texas. In addition to his wife, Lois, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed and Jim and sisters, Eva, Gussie, Annie, Nell, twins Nora and Dora and Dimple.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Angie McClain officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Versailles Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 25, Versailles, Missouri 65084.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
