Min Der Obituary
He was a restauranteur for 45 years, Benny Der's Golden Dragon Inn.
He served on the board of directors as treasurer for the Maryland Restaurant Association for many years.
He was an avid fan of Baltimore Orioles, Maryland Terrapins, Baltimore Ravens, and Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Accounting.
He was in the Air National Guard Reserves based out of Lackland, TX.
Retired in 2013 and enjoyed traveling during his retirement.
Survived by siblings: Ngook Ping Der, May Ling Der Russell, and Min Chang Der (Margaret)
He was predeceased by sister Mae Der Watson and nephew Jeffrey Wong
And survived by Nephews & Nieces: Butch Watson (Yolanda), Wayne Watson (Tony), Stacey Carroll (Troy), Gregory Der (Tonya), Tim Chen (Kathy), Kimberly Mazzocchi (Cooper) and Jon Der. Also Survived by numerous great Nephews & Nieces.
Friends may call at the Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home 6500 York Road Baltimore, 21212 on Sunday December 21st from12-2pm and 4-6pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral home on Monday December 22 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may made to Gilchrist Hospice 11311 Mcormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, Md. 21031 or to St. Jude's Children's research center 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105 or to the charity of your choice in his name.

My thoughts and prayers are with Min´s family. I will always love and cherish the wonderful memories of working for Min. Min was the BEST BOSS I ever had, I told him that often. He was always so kind to me, I am heartbroken. I know he is in a much better place and with our Dear Lord. He would get so upset with me for not eating even when I would work a 12 hour shift. The one time he kept at me telling me I had to eat something, so I finally told him I would eat some of the peppermint ice cream, it was so delicious. God Bless you Min I will always remember you kindly.

Min. You were a true friend and family member. Working w/ you through the many years taught me about making everything you do a positive experience. From the great meals, Xmas parties and summers together in Ocean City, the memories are lasting. Your calling from our Lord, was his request for some very delicious Chinese food, topped with/ that great peppermint ice cream and rice pudding. Our Love Always and Forever!

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Der family. Min and I graduated from Forest Park High School. We were friends during our school days and kept in touch over the years. We reconnected the last few years and I am very saddened by his passing. He was smart, kind and generous. I will miss him. Treasure the happy memories you have and may they bring you some measure of peace and healing. May he rest in peace.
