Minerva Emelia Lazaro Cundapi, age 49, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Houston. Born on June 26, 1976, in Oaxaca, Mexico, to Felipe Cundapi and Socorro Pacheco, Minerva lived a life filled with faith, love, and devotion to her family and community.
A proud homemaker, Minerva found joy in the simple and sacred rhythms of daily life. She married the love of her life, Juan Lazaro, on April 18, 2014, in Houston, where they built a home rooted in faith and warmth. As a devoted member of Zion Church – Iglesia Sion, Minerva's passion for evangelism and worship was evident in her love for singing, playing the piano, and sharing the gospel.
Minerva's spirit shined brightest in the presence of her family. She cherished moments at the park feeding ducks, indulging in her favorite treats-Lays chips, chocolate, and treats-and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Her embroidery reflected her patience and creativity, and her laughter echoed through every outing and playtime with her grandchildren. Above all, she loved being a mother.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Lazaro; her daughters Denice Lazaro (Alex Ortiz) and Emely Lazaro; her son Alex Lazaro; her sister Irasema Cundapi (Enrique Garcia); her brothers Juan Gabriel Cundapi Pacheco, Felipe de Jesus Cundapi Pacheco, and Arcides Cundapi Pacheco; and her grandchildren Alicia Gonzalez (age 6) and Alan Gonzalez (age 4).
Minerva is preceded in death by her parents Felipe Cundapi and Socorro Pacheco; and her grandparents Emelia Angeles, Elfego Pacheco, Mariano Cundapi, and Manuela Morino.
Her legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
