Minnie Lee Sanders was born August 12, 1940 in Grenada, Mississippi to Blanche Johnson and Chester Johnson. Minnie Sanders attended McKinney High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Minnie then moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1961 with her husband and children. They moved to Joliet, Illinois in 1975 where she resided at. Minnie loved her family, her kids and grandkids. Minnie raised four generations; her children, and grandchildren, nephews and great great kids. She loved playing bingo, going to the casino, cooking, giving words of advice. She was the life of all family gatherings. Minnie was a leo, (Lion) of our jungle; it was either join her or leave but it was nothing but genuine love.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Carolyn Watkins; one brother, Carl Wright; one grandson, Henderson Sanders; her mother-in-law, and father-in-lalw; niece-in-law and one daughter-in-law.
She passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 in Joliet, Illinois.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Henderson Sanders; three sons, Vincent, Bernard and Phillip Sanders, all of Joliet, IL; step-son, Derrick Harrell of Tucson, AZ; stepdaughter, Valerie Sanders of Chicago, IL; one brother-in-law, Roy E. Sanders (Deloris) of Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Margret Johnson and Alice Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; two special nephews, Marlon Johnson Sr. and Marlon Johnson Jr.; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a special great granddaughter, and great-great granddaughter she raised as her own, E'mmoni and A'mariyae Sanders; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
