Minnie Jane Williams, beloved woman of God, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 15, 2024.
Minnie was born on February 10, 1939, the middle child of seven to the late James M. Sr. and Mae Lena Allen Jordan. She was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA and was educated in the public school system. Minnie loved going to church and was a member of the United Order of Tents organization for African American church women. In her spare time you could always find her spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Minnie was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Williams, Sr., one son, Jerome Williams, Sr.; siblings, Lena Mae Grimstead, Milton Jordan and Bernice Cox.
Minnie leaves to cherish her fond memories, three children, Melvin Williams, Jr., Vondell Williams, Ryan Williams; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three siblings, James M. Jordan, Jr., Thomas Lee Jordan, Bernette Owens; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was my aunt...but felt more like an older sister. (Smile)
Minnie/Melvin & myself/my beloved husband Freddie, shared a special bond through life.
Not only did we spend our lifetime as close family members, we were next door neighbors on beloved "Pritchard Rd." from 1965 to 2002. Before that both Minnie & Melvin & myself & Freddie started our married lives living together with my grandmother/Melvin´s mother...Ms. Suzy Williams (affectionately "Moma Suzy"). The memories were many & unforgettable!

What I remember most is Minnie´s nurturing spirit. She always seemed to remain so positive, even amid the toughest moments. "I will be alright," was her natural response in the face of adversity. She dearly loved her family, and in turn her family dearly loved her.

Sugarfoot/(Melvin Jr.), Vondell & Ryan...remain strong knowing that prayers for comfort have been given on your behalf.

Much love,
Bernette Gregory

Nothing but a lifetime of beautiful memories...by way of being next door neighbors on Pritchard Road. (Smile)

Aunt Minnie may be gone...but never will her loving smile & demeanor be forgotten.

Me and ma Minnie would watch movies or television series for hours at a time, I'm about to leave and she'd say, " I hate to see you leave" she'd stand on her porch and wave. Until we meet again Ma. Family is not always about blood. Luv u Ma
