It is with both joy and sorrow that we announce the transition of our beloved mother and grandmother, Minnie Wooden, age 85, of Marianna, FL. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida, at her daughter's residence, surrounded by family. Minnie Wooden was the cherished daughter of the late Jimmy and Maggie Pollock of Bascom, Florida, and the devoted wife of the late James Wooden Sr. She leaves behind her sister, Ivory Harris of Miami, Florida, and brother, Gene Pollock of Miami, Florida; six children: Wienick Wooden, Sr. (Sylvia) of Chester, Virginia, Jeffery Wooden, Sr. (Jeanne) of Greenwood, Florida, Cedric Wooden, Sr. of Marianna, Florida, James Wooden, Jr. of Marianna, Florida, Quentin Wooden of Marianna, FL, Beverly McCall (Tommy) of Tallahassee, Florida; one godson, Billy White of Marianna, Florida; along with fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering to reminisce and rejoice about Mrs. Minnie's walk on this side of heaven will take place on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:00 pm at Peoples Funeral Home on 2876 Orange Street, Marianna, FL.

The home-going service for Mrs. Minnie will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Second West Missionary Baptist Association, located at 4110 Herring Ave., Marianna, FL 32448.

The interment will immediately follow at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church cemetery, under the directions of the caring staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home with the repast in the church fellowship hall, located at 2662 Poplar Springs Rd., Marianna, FL.

Flowers are welcomed or monetary donations can be made via check to Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church to support the ministry that Mrs. Minnie Wooden so loved. Please add Minnie Wooden to the memo line so we can properly thank you.
