Mintie Izilia House

Mrs. Mintie Izilia House, 81, of Chase City, VA, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Born September 15, 1943, in New York City to the late William and Izilia King Bonner, Mrs. House earned a bachelor’s degree in business and pursued a successful career in banking. She was a devoted member of St. Douglas Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House, VA.

Mrs. House had a passion for shopping, cooking, and watching both cooking shows and westerns.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Francis House.

Cherishing her memory are her stepson, Thomas Francis House Jr. of Silver Spring, MD; four brothers, Timothy Glover of Wappingers Falls, NY, Horace Glover of Phoenix, AZ, Elliott Glover of Loris, SC, and Julian Wilson Jr. of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Alphonso House of Richmond, VA and Donald House (Renee) of Boydton, VA; ; two devoted sisters in Christ, Loretta Bailey and Marlene Thompson, both of Red Oak, VA; two devoted brothers, Charles Bailey Sr. of Red Oak, VA and Michael Whitehead Sr. of Farmville, VA; a dear friend, Gary Jacobson; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA, with Pastor Shandell Howell delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Oak, VA.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
