Miriam Vellucci Obituary
Mrs. Vellucci was born in Monroe Michigan in 1930, the fourth of four children born to George and Miriam Broderick (nee Foster).
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Michigan, she studied voice and performance at the University of Cincinnati- Conservatory of Music and then at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München under renowned German baritone Gerhard Hüsch.
Upon returning to the United States, Mrs. Vellucci made a career as an opera singer. She was a first soprano with the Metropolitan Opera chorus for 32 years, having retired in 1997, where she was a beloved colleague.
Mrs. Vellucci was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Luigi ("Gigi"), and her siblings Alice Louise ("Alie Lou"), Robert ("Bob") and George ("Darling Georgie"). She is survived by her son, Michael, her daughter-in-law, Teresa, and her grandchildren Isabella and Aiden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund.

Dear Michael: I think I met you when you were very young. Your mom, Miriam Vellucci, was the sister of my Aunt Allie Lou whom I grew up with here in Denver. She was the sister my mom, Dorothy Ann Slagle, did not have and the two of them regularly traveled and stayed in touch. We lost both of them years ago, but stayed lightly in touch with your mom. I was sorry to see she passed away in April, but what a long and wonderful life she had. We have been blessed with a wonderful family. Suzanne Fullerton van Hall
