CSJP Joan Davis

Sister Joan, CSJP, 90, of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, died peacefully at St. Michael Villa on March 3, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1935, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late William Davis and Bridget Kenny.Sister Joan entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace at St. Michael Villa Novitiate, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, on September 12, 1953, and pronounced final vows there on August 22, 1959.Sister Joan graduated from Seton Hall University, NJ in 1966 with a BA in Elementary Education.Sister Joan taught at St. Luke's School, Hohokus, NJ; Our Lady of Mercy, Whippany, NJ; St. Genevieve's, Van Nuys, CA; Annunciation, Paramus, NJ and Immaculate Heart Academy Washington Township, NJ. In 2006 Sister retired to St. Michael Villa.Sister Joan was predeceased by her brother, Michael Joseph Davis, and sisters, Margaret Coppla, Patricia Davis, Eileen Vanderbilt, and Mary Sweeney. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A combined Wake/Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10am. in St. Michael Villa, Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
