Miss Wanda Joan Moore, 59, affectionately known as "The Princess," a cherished soul whose sweet and loving spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born on July 10, 1965, in Alamance County, where she began her journey filled with joy and warmth.

As a young child, Wanda was embraced by the love of her family and attended Brightwood Christian Church, where the seeds of her kindness and compassion were sown. Those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life remember her as a precious little girl, whose laughter echoed through the halls of her home. Everything about her radiated tenderness, illuminating the lives she touched like the gentle sunlight that graces a spring morning. The love and devotion she offered were reciprocated many times over, especially during her years at Howell Care Center, where she lived for 46 years. Those moments spent riding in the car with her family when they came to visit, taking trips to Wendy's, and delightfully dipping her fries in a frosty became small yet profound joys—reflecting her love for simple pleasures and family connections.

Wanda was blessed with a caring family at home and at Howell Care Center. She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Richard A. and Deborah Moore; her sisters and brother-in-law, Beckie Moore Isley, and Brenda M. and Larry McCain; as well as her beloved nieces, Stephanie Shaw, Noell McCain, Sabrina Mundo, and Gwen Brown, along with her nephews, Landon Isley and James Moore; and many great nieces and great nephews. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, remembering the warmth of her laughter and the light of her presence.

Though her parents, Willie James Moore and Ethel Stainback Moore, departed this world before her, they undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. She is also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Larry Isley, and her dear nephew, Donnell McCain II, who now share in her eternal peace.

Throughout her 46 years at Howell Care Center, the family is immensely grateful for the loving care and devotion provided by the staff and nurses who became a part of her extended family. Their compassion further shone through during her brief stay at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, where Wanda received heartfelt support in her final days.

The funeral service to celebrate Wanda's life will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Stevens with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 12:45PM to 1:45PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Howell Care Center, 3738 Howell Day Care Road, LaGrange, NC 28551 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

In our hearts, Wanda will remain a precious little girl – sweet, loving, and perpetually adored. Her journey may have taken her from our sight, but her spirit will continue to illuminate our lives, guiding us with her gentle love until we meet again.
