Misty Nicole Combs

We are heartbroken to share that Misty Nicole Combs, 38, passed away on January 27, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born on August 7, 1987, to Kenny and Penny Combs, Misty was a bright light in the lives of many.

A proud graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and Wesleyan College, Misty pursued a fulfilling career as a travel nurse, specializing in Labor & Delivery and Critical Care for infants. She was dedicated to her work and cared deeply for the children she helped, even though she was unable to have children of her own. For over a decade, California was her home, where she embraced every opportunity to explore the country with her beloved dog, Ella.

A passionate traveler and art lover, Misty made it her mission to visit galleries and museums around the world, from Hawaii to France, Germany, Spain, and Panama. Her love for cooking and spending time with family was evident, and she always prioritized the needs of others over her own.

Misty leaves behind her fiancé, Floyd Brooks; her parents, Kenny and Penny Combs; her sister Kellie Liske and her husband Nick of Berea, KY; her maternal grandmother, Sandy Isaacs; her paternal grandmother, Elvira Combs; three nephews, Liam, David, and Asa; and one niece, Kennedy. She is also survived by uncles Larry Combs and his wife Lesa, Roger Combs and his wife Mindy, aunt Peggy Durham and her husband Scott, and many cousins and friends. Misty often reassured her loved ones that they would meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Gathering to celebrate Misty's life will take place with visitation on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home. The funeral service along with The Nightingale Nurses Tribute will follow on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1 PM, with Rev. Chris Isaacs officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include Tandon, Tyson, and Trinton Isaacs, Floyd Brooks, Larry Combs, Daniel Combs, Tim Combs, Cody Murphy, and Nick Liske.

Misty touched the lives of so many, and her kindness and spirit will be dearly missed.
