Mitchell Frederick Cieslak, age 62, of Spring City, Tennessee, entered his heavenly home on September 30, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in Buffalo, New York, on January 23, 1963, Mitch was the beloved son of the late Dr. Frederick Cieslak and Dorothy Cieslak. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and went on to work as a mechanical engineer for numerous aerospace companies. He later served as a flight test engineer for Genpact, traveling the globe where he retired in June of this year.
On September 1, 1984, Mitch married the love of his life, Mary Susan Ballard, and together they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Susan; his children, Christopher (Julia) Cieslak with grandchildren Heidi, Benjamin, and Cecilia, and Jenna (Jesse) Combs with grandchildren Aiden, Ashden, and Alden Womacks; his brothers Michael (Carmelle) Cieslak, Martin (Pat) Cieslak, and Matthew (Bernadette) Cieslak; his brother-in-law Timothy Ballard; and his mother-in-law Sue Huston. He is also survived by his cherished foreign exchange daughters, Lucy (Jason) Lee and Chloee Choi, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A man of deep faith, Mitch was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Spring City, TN. He never missed an opportunity to share the Word of God with anyone willing to listen. A large influence on his salvation was his mother-in-law, Sue Huston, whose faith left a lasting impact on his walk with the Lord. His greatest joy was found in his children, grandchildren and his church family. He loved fishing, traveling (especially cruises), lake life-including knocking loved ones off tubes and teaching many how to water ski-sharing jokes, caring for his dogs, and making memories with family and friends. With his witty personality, Mitch never met a stranger-he had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued.
