Mitchell Monroe Collins

Mitchell Collins age 80 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed from this earthly Monday February 2, 2026 at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born February 1, 1946 the son of the late Ollie and Bernice Collins. He was a 1964 graduate of Pikeville High School where he lettered in both football and track. He attended Pikeville College and honorably served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kittyhawk during the Vietnam War. More importantly he was a born again Christian and a member of the Betsy Layne Free Will Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ollie F. Collins.

Mitch is survived by his loving wife, Linda Collins, his daughter, Sara Collins of Louisville, Kentucky. One grandson, Jake Glogower of Louisville, Kentucky, his brother and sister, Stephen Collins of Santa Maria, California and Leah Dixon of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Serving as pallbearers will be: John Bayes, Cory Bayes, Ollie Mitchell Collins, Bobby Collins, George Morgan and Jerry Hager

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Roger Farley, Mike Branham and Felicia Nu'Man

Visitation will be from 5 PM-9 PM Thursday February 5, 2026 at J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday February 6, 2026 at the funeral home with Barry Clark officiating.

Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at East Shelbiana, Kentucky.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Mitch's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105
