Mitchell Dewitt Evans, age 50, of Harrogate, Tennessee passed away September 19, 2025 at Tri State Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrogate, Tennessee.

He was born on November 30, 1974 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Dewitt Evans and Sylvia Shackelford Evans who survives.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Lee Evans, nephew Robert Green, maternal grandparents Tom and Bessie Shackelford, paternal grandparents Elam and Mary Evans, cousin Joey Evans, special cousin DeJuana York, and aunt Pauline Stewart.

Mitchell was a Christian and was saved as a teenager. He was a talented musician who enjoyed singing and playing. He had a heart of gold; making people laugh and feel good brought him so much delight. He was always ready to kick back and have fun and a good time with his family and friends. He loved his family very much.

Left to mourn his passing, his mother Sylvia Shackelford Evans, son Dylan (Haley) Evans, daughter Alexis King, sisters Gwen (Roy) Cheek, Rhonda (James) Partin, Rachael (Jeff) Daugherty, Melissa (Mitchell) Green, grandchildren Oliver Miracle, Bellemy King, Mallory Evans, and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will miss him so very much.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Tri State Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care that they gave to Mitchell while he was a resident.

The family of Mitchell Evans will receive friends Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Jones, Rev. Mike Sutton, and Rev Travis Dunn officiating. Music will be provided by Chelsea Thacker, The Thompsons and the Red Oak Baptist Church Choir.
