Mitchell D. Shawd, 63, of Kendallville, passed away on May 15, 2025 at Kendallville Manor Nursing & Rehab. Mitchell was born December 28, 1961, and raised in Columbus Ohio before moving to Indiana. He loved travelling as a young man. He loved visiting family, enjoyed listening to music and sitting outside on nice days. He loved his action movies, and recently enjoyed playing bingo with his fellow friends at Kendallville Manor. Mitch had a heart of gold and would give or help others in any way he could.
Mitchell is survived by:
Daughter, Ashley & Jared (Shawd) Nagel of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Daughter, Krystal & Brandon (Shawd) Baber of North Liberty, Indiana.
Daughter, Elizabeth Kelham of Garrett, Indiana.
Nine grandchildren.
Brother, Richard Sanders of Waterloo, Indiana.
Brother, James & Lillian Sanders of Chapmanville, West Virginia.
Brother, David Sanders of Waterloo, Indiana.
Brother, Steven Sanders of Avilla, Indiana
Two great nephews; niece, Leila Elizabeth Sanders; and nephews, Kyle Heath Sanders and Dusty James Sanders.
Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents, Robert 'Bob' and Mary (Stanley) Shawd; his biological parents, Bobby and Louise (Miller) Sanders; daughter, Michelle Ann Shawd; and niece, Taysha Marie Sanders.
A more intimate memorial service will be held at a later date.
