Mick Veenema, age 83, of Hudsonville, was called home to his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2025, after a 5-year battle with cancer. Mick was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Grace Veenema; brothers, Dan Veenema, Butch Veenema; father-in-law and mother-in-law, in-laws, Gerritt and Dena Schut; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Diane Schut.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Carol (Schut) Veenema; children, Christie Pikaart, Mike and Bridget Veenema, Todd and Heidi Veenema; grandchildren, Jordan, Tayler and Joey Honderd, Connor; great grandchildren, Khloe, Grey, Brooks, Ty, Tate; in-laws, Gerald (Carole) Schut, Gary (Elaine) Schut, Don (Sandy) Schut; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mick worked for Keeler Brass for 43 years. He enjoyed taking his kids out for dinner, watching his grandchildren play softball, baseball, soccer, and perform at Christmas programs. He enjoyed traveling, including trips to Alaska and Hawaii, spending time at their cottage at Holiday Haven in Holland and was an avid Harley rider.

Funeral services for Mick will be held on Monday, August 18, at 1:00 P.M. at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Sunday, August 17, from 2 to 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice.

The family wishes to thank Peggy Rogalski of iCare for the loving care she provided Mick.
