Mitzi Lee Neville Vandenburg, passed away on 26 September 2025 at the age of 89, in Belgrade, Montana. She was a lifelong resident of Vacaville, California. She moved to Belgrade, in December of 2023, to live with her eldest daughter Cindy and her son-in-law Chuck.
Mitzi was born in San Jose, California to Lee and Virginia Neville on 25 April 1936. She married Charles Edward Barton in 1953. Ed and Mitzi had five children. Mitzi adored her children and raised them as faithful followers of Christ. She was a devout Catholic and was inspired by the Latin mass. Mitzi volunteered to serve in the masses and rectory. She provided monetary support to build a Catholic high school, to send young men to school to be priests, and to clothe and feed the less fortunate. Mitzi was a voracious reader. Her passion was learning all she could about the Catholic Church.
Mitzi is survived by her loving children, Cynthia Knecht, Victoria Dresselhaus, Traci Adiego, Theresa Barton, and Tom Barton and their spouses (Chuck, Wayne, Chuck and Shirley). She had 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mitzi is also survived by her brother Kenneth Neville. The family will hold a memorial mass, followed by internment of Mitzi’s ashes. The family asked in lieu of flowers and cards to pray for all those in need.
