A resident of St Francisville, Molly McGraw died Saturday February 1 at the age of sixty-seven. Molly was born in Monahans, Texas and grew up in Marksville and Baton Rouge, where she graduated from Lee High School. After earning a graduate degree in Classical Archaeology from Indiana University, Molly worked on excavations at the agora in Athens, Greece, and later held a position at the Vancouver Museum of Anthropology. After scoring in the top one percent on the Law School Admissions Test, Molly completed a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and had a long career as a practicing attorney. She represented Piccadilly Corporation for several years, started her own title company, and later worked for the firm Navratil, Hardy and Bourgeois in Baton Rouge. A beautiful woman with a remarkable intellect, Molly was a passionate lover of the arts, and a charming and engaging personality. After Hurricane Katrina, she moved to St Francisville, where she cultivated a circle of dear friends. Her absence is deeply felt, and she is missed. Molly was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She is survived by a daughter, Cora Fuller, of Spokane, Washington. Visitation will be at Grace Episcopal Church in St. Francisville on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 from 12pm until service at 1pm conducted by Fr. Craig Dalferes. Burial will be in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, St. Francisville.
