Tanya Leigh "Michael" DiBenedetto

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tanya Leigh Michael

DiBenedetto, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who departed this life on

August 17, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born February 20, 1958, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a resident of Ventress, LA,

Tanya lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family. She was a

guiding light to her children, a source of unconditional love to her grandchildren, and a

cherished sister and aunt whose kindness and generosity touched all who knew her.

Tanya will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and the way she always

placed the needs of others before her own. She found her greatest joy in caring for her

family and created memories that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her children Lance (Tara), and Ryan; her fiancé Donnie Nettles;

grandchildren Justin, Brandy, Gavin, Hayden, Kynlee, and Orion; siblings Mary

Jeansonne, Jameal Michael Jr. (Kay), and Rose Jones (Kevin); and many nieces and

nephews. All will continue to honor her legacy of love and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jameal C. Michael Sr. and Helen Mae Braud

Michael, her sister Josslyn Michael Prather, and her son Justin C. DiBenedetto.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tanya's life on Saturday, September 6, 2025,

from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary, Louisiana.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Our Lady of the Lake

Cancer Center and Infusion, Dr. Ozair and her staff, and the Compassus Hospice

nurses for their compassionate care.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will remain in our hearts always.
