Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Simmons

Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Simmons, 64, a resident of St. Francisville, passed on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was a resident of St. Francisville. He worked in Law Enforcement for over twenty years, serving as the Police Chief of St. Francisville for over 13 years. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm until funeral services at 4:00 pm. There will be a 10:00 am graveside service on Monday, August 25 2025 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in St. Francisville. He is survived by two step-daughters: Amanda Turnley, Abigail Miley and husband Jake; two sons: Austin Simmons and Zack Simmons; father, Donovan "Don" Simmons Jr.; two brothers William "Billy" Simmons, Robert "Bobby" Simmons; and grandchild Malcolm Miley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine "Kathy" Simmons and brother Donnie Simmons. Pallbearers will be William Simmons, Bobby Simmons, Doug Howland, Sam Daquilla, Joey Thibodeaux, and William "Billy" Torrez. He worked his way up through the St. Francisville police department from patrolman in 1983 to eventually becoming a decorated chief of police of St. Francisville, retiring in 2003. He was a graduate of the FBI academy 210th session where he graduated in the top three of his session. He received a commendation from the United States Congress in 2002 for his years in law enforcement. He was also a certified accident reconstructionist and acquired many other professional certificates in law-enforcement.
