Momenia Carter, a beacon of selflessness, gentleness, and humor, graced this world with her presence on September 9, 1941, in the bustling streets of New York City. Her journey on Earth came to a close on August 22, 2025, in the same vibrant city she called home. Momenia's life was as rich and colorful as the gardens she so lovingly tended to, her hands both nurturing the earth and the hearts of those around her.

A proud graduate and an embodiment of lifelong learning, Momenia dedicated her professional life to the service of others as a supervisor at the New York Foundling Hospital. Her career was not just a job but a calling, where she extended her maternal warmth to all those in her care, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.

Faith played a significant role in Momenia's life, her Muslim beliefs providing a foundation of strength and compassion that guided her every action. She lived her faith not just in words but in deeds, embracing the principles of kindness and charity that define true servanthood.

Momenia's interests painted a picture of a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. With every stitch of her crochet hook, she wove love into blankets and scarves, just as she interlaced her life with those she cherished. Her passion for reading transported her to worlds beyond her own, and her love for planting grounded her in the beauty of the present moment.

Her family was her greatest masterpiece, a tapestry of individuals who each reflected a unique aspect of her spirit. Survived by her brother Tasir Ali; her children Cassandra Markman, Boysie Carter Jr., and Fatima Carter; and her adoring nephew and niece, Raj and Sade Ali, Momenia's legacy of love is further carried on by her grandchildren Mariah, Tariq, Joheida, Tiana, and Faraya, as well as her great-grandchildren Sianna, Gregory, Jaxon, and Jasir.

Momenia's life was a testament to the power of gentle strength and the impact of a well-placed smile. Her humor was a source of light in the lives of all who knew her, a gentle reminder that joy can be found even in the most ordinary moments.

In remembering Momenia Carter, we celebrate a life that was lived with purpose and passion, a life that serves as an inspiration to us all. She taught us that to be selfless is to be truly rich, to be gentle is to be truly strong, and to be funny is to be truly wise. Her memory will continue to guide us like a beacon, reminding us that the seeds of kindness we plant today can blossom into a garden of hope for tomorrow.
