MAMOU - Mona Kay Chapman, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Mamou, LA, at the age of 69. She was born on Wednesday, September 29, 1954, in Elizabeth, LA, and was the cherished daughter of the late Elias Miller and Anna Lee Bogard Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Father Massie will be celebrant over all services. A burial will follow at New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Mona was a dedicated homemaker, devoting her life to creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, taking pleasure in watching movies, especially those of the suspense, drama, and Hallmark genres. An avid crocheter, she turned yarn into beautiful creations that brought comfort and warmth to her loved ones.
Mona will be deeply missed by her children, Melissa Chapman and Robert Chapman; her granddaughter, Emma Chapman and her four siblings, Diana Douget, Frances Danielson, Ricky Miller and Randy Miller. The memories they shared will be treasured forever, and Mona's legacy will live on through her loving family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Elias Miller and Anna Lee Bogard Miller.
At the family’s request, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 8:00 AM until the time of service.
The Chapman family invites all who knew and loved Mona to join them in saying their final goodbyes and offering their support during this difficult time.
