Mona Sue Miracola

Mona Sue Miracola, 75, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Born on December 30, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Mona was the beloved daughter of the late Marvin Rosenthal and Gloria Grohman. She grew up in the Prospect Park section of Brooklyn and was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, where she enjoyed performing as a member of the school choir. Mona later earned her degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

While working at Chemical Bank, Mona met her future husband, Robert Miracola. The couple began their family in Brooklyn before settling on Staten Island, where Mona became an active and devoted member of her community. She worked as a Para-Professional at Port Richmond High School, where she made a lasting impact on both students and staff. During her time there, she proudly helped establish the Prom Shop, a project that meant a great deal to her. Mona was also actively involved in the Holy Child Church Dinner Shows and generously supported and participated in numerous fundraising efforts throughout her community.

Mona was extremely crafty and creative, delighting in using her talents to make every celebration special. Whether creating favors, invitations, flower arrangements, or other thoughtful details, she poured her heart into helping each event succeed. Always generous with her time and talents, Mona was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family, whom she loved deeply. Mona will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory be a blessing to her family and friends.

Mona is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert Miracola; her loving children, Alena Fioriello and her spouse Ben, and Matt Miracola and his spouse Julian; her cherished grandchildren, Louis, Dominick, Marco, and Isabella; and her sister, Ellyn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 U.S. Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, located at 361 Highway 79, Morganville, New Jersey. Entombment will take place at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Mona's memory be made to the ASPCA.
