"His life was not measured by years, but by the love he gave and the lives he touched."

A Life of Purpose Monier Mesidor was born on March 21, 1950, in Desdunes, Haiti. He was the fourth of five siblings: Anne Avelina St. Fleur, Gustinvil (Cange) Mesidor (deceased), Siglancine Charles, and Agnes Mesidor (deceased) to parents Julien Mesidor and Louisina Cherilus (both deceased). He began his education at École Nationale de Desdunes and continued at Lycee Fabres Geffrard des Gonaïves. A man dedicated to knowledge and service, he began his career as a teacher at École Bethesda de Desdunes, where he was admired for his compassion, patience, and passion for education. He also had a keen eye for fashion and pursued tailoring-both in Haiti and later in the United States-eventually working as a tailor for Calvin Klein Apparel. His greatest goal was to provide for his family, a commitment that led him to a long and dedicated career as a taxi driver with Weslande Taxi.
A Heart for Family In 1972, Monier met and married the love of his life, Andree Ceus. Together, they raised five children, built a life grounded in love and resilience, and inspired everyone around them. Monier was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. To his daughters, he was a steady protector and source of wisdom. To his grandchildren, he was a storyteller, a gentle hug, and a warm laugh-especially over rice with lalo. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Andree, and their five daughters: Herlande; Ketsia and her husband, Barnabas; Wilvana and her husband,
Wilter; Shella and her husband, Halande; and Whislande. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Steven, Caitlyn, Sheldon, Chloe, Jordan, Jayden, and Caleb.
Monier is survived by his siblings: Anne Avelina St. Fleur and her family, Siglancine Charles and her family, Ticelie Lamarre and her family, Joseline Mesidor and her family, and Yvonette Mesidor and her family. He is also mourned by his aunts Elfira Mesidor and her family and Marie Marguerite Mesidor and her family. He will be missed by his mother-in-law, Lucienne Ceus and her family, as well as the Cherilus family, St. Fleur family, Pierre-Louis family, Prince family, Jean Marie family, Ceus family, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A Lasting Legacy Monier's life was defined by steadfast strength, deep faith, and unwavering religious dedication-a legacy of devotion that he instilled in his children, who continue to walk faithfully in the gospel. Whether it was a simple act of kindness or an encouraging word, he had a way of making people feel seen and valued. As a teacher, he led with discipline, rigor, and heart. He saw education as a path to freedom, to growth, and to a better world. He poured his energy into every lesson, into every student, into every opportunity to uplift others. His impact stretched far beyond the classroom. He mentored, he guided, and he inspired.
Three of his five children would grow up to become teachers themselves- a testament to the lasting impact of his example. He didn't just teach in the secular world, but he was also a devoted Sunday school teacher and a preacher while being involved in various ministries within the church.
Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate the beautiful legacy he leaves behind-one of devotion, strength, and love. His spirit will continue to live on in the stories we share, the kindness we show, the Christian life of service we strive to lead, and the unity of the family he cherished so deeply.

Rest peacefully, Dad. We love you! You will always be in our hearts.
