Fritznel was born on June 15, 1957, in Gros Mornes, Haiti, to Henrikes Mesidor and Elicile Filestin. He was the seventh of twelve children, and though five of his siblings passed away at a young age, he remained closely bonded with his surviving brothers and sisters: Marie Laurette Deshommes, Robinson Mesidor, Nicaisse Mesidor, Dukenst Mesidor, Janette L. Mesidor, and Merita Mesidor.
In the 1970s, Fritznel moved to Port-au-Prince to pursue his education at Lycée Firmin and later graduated as a tailor from G&B Darmien in 1978. A devout Christian, he served as a Sunday school teacher and active member of Second Baptist Church in Port-au-Prince. It was there he met the love of his life, Benita Derice, who would become his wife in 1982. Together, they raised two beloved children: Francesse Mesidor Toussaint and Stephane Mesidor.
In 1996, Fritznel immigrated to the United States, where he worked for over a decade as a tailor at Point Blank Body Armor, specializing in the production of bulletproof vests for the military. Even while abroad, his commitment to faith never wavered. He served faithfully as both treasurer and Sunday school teacher at EgliseEvangelique de Jesus Christ.
In 2008, Fritznel returned to Haiti to pursue and grow his business. He resided in Tabarre 22, Port-au-Prince, where he continued to live out his calling as a man of faith, community leader, and provider.
Fritznel will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and a man of unshakable integrity. He was known for his gentle strength, spiritual devotion, and unwavering dedication to his family and church. He found great joy in exploring the Haitian countryside, its cuisine, beaches, and natural beauty. He led by example — a true pillar in the lives of those who knew him.
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Fritznel Mesidor, who left this world on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 68, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Fritznel Mesidor’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and purpose. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Benita Derice Mesidor, his children Francesse Mesidor Toussaint and Stephane Mesidor, and his six grandchildren: Alexandre Didier Mesidor, Giovanni Isaac Toussaint, Joshua Sebastian Toussaint, Gabriel Ethan Mesidor, Oliver Noah Toussaint, and Tobias Christopher Mesidor. He also leaves behind his loving siblings and a host of extended family and friends.
Thank you and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
