Elida Dorcena, affectionately known as Man-Man, Grandma, Gran, and Da, was born on December 29, 1930, in Les Cayes, Haiti, to Cervilia Lucien and Nanna Dorcena.
She grew up in Aux Cayes, Haiti, and was known for her kindness, strong faith, generosity, love of family, delicious cooking, and gift for crochet. Elida devoted her life to raising her three children, serving faithfully in her church—Flatbush Church of God and lovingly caring for her grandchildren.
She touched the lives of many through her prayers, warm meals, service to the church, care for others, joyful spirit, and words of encouragement.
Elida entered eternal rest in October 8, 2025, surrounded by her family during worship service, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories.
She is survived by her daughter Kettly St.Hilaire, her son Nesly Weche, nieces, nephews, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
