Monroe Stark Obituary

Born October 15, 1926, He enjoyed a long life, married for 66 years to his loving wife Judy. Over the years, Monroe lived in New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. He was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island. Upon graduating from Long Beach High School, he was chosen out of many to serve in the US Navy V12 program, a special training program for engineering. He attended Yale, Georgia Tech and Berea College until graduating University of Missouri with degrees in civil engineering.
Monroe's career took him to many places including Dubai, Egypt, Soviet Union, Puerto Rico and other international locations. His domestic management skills were put to work in New York, building high-rise projects in Manhattan, schools, hospitals, Libraries, a maximum-security prison and a cathedral in Newark, NJ.
He and his family lived in Huntington, Long Island, NY; Plymouth, MI; Malvern PA and he finally retired to Pawleys Island, SC where he enjoyed golf, woodworking projects and the Atlantic Ocean.
Survivors include his wife Judy of Pawleys Island, Son: Kenneth Stark and his wife Andrea Stark, daughter: Cheryl Young and her husband Bo Young, grandchildren: Emily Law; Rebecca Law; Brady Stark and Connor Stark and a son-in-law John Stifler. He was preceded in death by his daughter Louise Law.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
