Monte Castoe Obituary

Born in 1949 in Wann, Oklahoma, Monte bravely served as a Seabee for the US Navy during the Vietnam War and stateside during Hurricane Camille. Monte was well known for his gruff demeanor and soft heart, often helping those who needed help the most. He was also well known for his ornery sense of humor and his impeccable carpentry and baking skills. His cookies were well-loved far and wide by all who enjoyed them.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Sally Castoe, brother Don Castoe, and sisters Gretta Moore and Sally Lorene Cordell. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Castoe, son Cory and fiancée Lauren Glenn, "adopted" son Brandon Boling and wife Sarah, as well as eight grandchildren, Faith Lee, Elliott, and Otto Castoe, Aidan and Susan Glenn, and Logan, Evie, and Ember Boling. He is also survived by former daughter-in-law Scout Kim.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Montego as my mama called him was a quiet but very thoughtful and kind man. A strong and mighty oak of a man! His words were measured and when he chose to use them he meant what he said and said what he meant! Children and especially his son and grandchildren were this Superman´s kryponite. He loved them and would do anything for them! He swept my sister off her feet in 1975 and never looked back! I miss him and I love him!
