Monte Lynn Henderson

Monte Lynn Henderson of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 63.
Monte was born on January 29, 1962, in Rolla to the late "Leon" Henderson and Anna Mae (Frank) Henderson. A proud member of the Iron Workers Local #396, Monte found deep fulfillment in his work, especially the time spent working alongside his father and his life partner, Tina Dozier, both of whom were also members of the same union. Monte also enjoyed time spent working alongside of his brother, Chuck Henderson.
Monte's greatest passion was music. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he was especially fond of playing the drums. Over the years, he played in numerous local bands, including his own band, Pseudo Blues. His love for music extended beyond performance-Monte was also a skilled sound engineer and the owner of M.J. Sound in Rolla, where he provided equipment and mentorship to aspiring local musicians.
Monte met the love of his life 24 years ago while working in Rolla, Tina Dozier, and the two shared 24 wonderful years together. His love for his family was unmatched-he adored his sons and treasured time spent with both them and his fellow musicians.
He is survived by his devoted life partner, Tina Dozier of Rolla; sons, Michael Henderson of Rolla and Joseph Henderson of St. Louis; sisters, Linda Stricker and husband Charles of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Connie Snelson Fausset and husband Tom of Ft. Myers, Florida; brothers, Chuck Henderson of Rolla, and Nicholas Poynter and wife Karen of Leasburg, Missouri; and grandson, Beckett Duball. He also leaves behind his bonus children, Kevin Dozier of Urbana, Illinois, Kady Duball of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Casey Bull of Jefferson City, Missouri. In addition, he also leaves behind a host of extended family members and countless friends who will deeply miss his music, laughter, and heart.
In addition to his parents, Monte was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Henderson.
