Monte Regen Obituary
Monte was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Anne Regen. He settled in East Brunswick, NJ in 1982 and remained there for more than four decades.
In 1958 through 1964, Monte served with pride in the U.S. Army. After the Army, Monte had a dedicated career in banking retiring from JP Morgan Chase Bank.
Monte was a true puzzle master. He loved solving complex puzzles, and he enjoyed playing backgammon together with his wife, Eileen. He loved to travel, go out to dinner, and capture his adventures with photography. He created lasting memories on his trips with his wife at his side. Monte was a jokester, who took himself very lightly. He always found ways to make others laugh with his quick humor and playful spirit.
Monte had a lifelong love for basketball and spent every Saturday playing in Brooklyn, a tradition he cherished. Off the court, he had an undeniable sweet tooth and never passed up the chance to indulge in a good dessert.
He was very proud of his garden. He spent countless hours making sure that every plant, flower and shrub looked just right. This was his haven, a place to unwind, dig in the soil, and create beautiful things. He loved watching his grandchildren explore, play and enjoy the space that he nurtured so carefully.
Monte's mother, Anne Regen and uncle Mo predeceased him.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Regen of East Brunswick; his sister, Barbara Gatto; his beloved grandchildren, Richard, Ryan, Christina, Emily, Katie, and Robert; and his nieces and nephews, Carolyn Gatto, Laura Fogel, Julia Green, and Michael Gatto.
A chapel service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 10:45 am, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Cremation will take place in a private setting. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
Monte will be missed by those who knew him and loved his warmth and humor. His unforgettable personality and humor will continue to live in the hearts and minds of all those he touched.
