Mr. Monterris Dontrel Smith was born on May 23, 1985, to the late Penni Johnson and the late Bennie C. Smith, Sr., in Griffin Spalding County, Georgia. He received his formal education is the Griffin-Spalding County School System in Griffin, Georgia.

Monterris accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

In his leisure time he enjoyed working on cars, talking junk, and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, Mr. Monterris Dontrel Smith name was called, and he answered and was free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. He was preceded in death by his parents, Penni Johnson, and Bennie C. Smith, Sr., his grandparents, Carrie Mae "MD" Johnson, and Margie (Eddie B) Crawley.

Mr. Monterris Dontrel Smith leaves his loving memory in the hearts of his siblings, Natasha Johnson, Tanna Smith, Schawanda Smith, Whitney Smith, Brandy Smith, Bennecia Smith, Bennie C. Smith, Jr., Carlis Smith, and Christopher Williams, special friend, Dreka McDowell, 6 aunts, Margie (Dean) Spencer, Frances Brown, Betty Powell, Mary A. Crawley, Claudia Crawley, and Peggy Crawley, and 3 uncles, Anthony Brown, Frank Crawley, and Eddie Crawley. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
