Montier Lucille Suggs Savage, 81, of Pikeville, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 01, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born in Wayne County, NC on April 1, 1944, to the late Edward Hamilton Suggs and Frances Lucille Forehand Suggs. Montier was the youngest of eleven children.

The family will receive friends at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 336 Nahunta Rd, Pikeville, NC, on Friday, December 05, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A service of remembrance and worship will follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Joe Strouse and Rev. Steve Holder. The burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park on Highway 117 in Dudley, NC.

Montier was a member of the first graduating class of Charles B. Aycock High School in Pikeville, NC, Class of 1962. During her time at Watha Youth Camp in Watha, NC, she met a young evangelist, Roy A. Savage, who later became her husband. For more than 62 years, Montier faithfully supported her husband's Christian ministry. She served with devotion as a pianist and organist, choir director, vocalist, and in numerous other roles associated with pastoral service.

Beyond ministry, Montier held several administrative and clerical positions throughout her career, including roles at Goldsboro Christian School, Berry Manufacturing, and Jeffreys Equipment Company. Above all, she cherished her family. She lovingly devoted herself to her children and grandchildren and, most recently, to her first great-granddaughter, affectionately known as "The Apple of Her Eye".

Montier is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Roy A. Savage, Sr.; two daughters: Sonya Savage Strouse and husband, Joe, and Melissa Savage Worley and husband Earl; one son: Roy Allen Savage, Jr. and wife, Amy; and grandchildren: Stephen Strouse and wife, Chelsea, Julia Beth Worley Craig and husband, Drew, Will Worley, Jordan Savage; and great-granddaughter, Eliza Monroe Craig.

In addition, she is survived by sisters-in-law: Maxine Suggs, Jettye Suggs, and Doris "Dot" Suggs; as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Joe Suggs, Ed Suggs, Jim Suggs, Leon Suggs, Bill Suggs, Eugene Suggs, Bob Suggs, Doris Sauls, Mattie Maready and Gladys Maready.

Flowers are welcome but the family suggests contributions be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 in memory of Montier.
