Morris A. Blocker, age 85, of Wilmot, SD, passed away at his residence on January 15, 2024, doing what he loved to do, feeding his calves.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Community Church in Wilmot. Rev. K.C. Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Morris Allen Blocker was born on December 20, 1938, in Webster, SD. He was the son of Percy and Myrtle (Clauson) Blocker. Morris grew up on the family farm near Webster and attended country school through the eighth grade. He graduated from Webster High School with the Class of 1958.
In 1959, Morris was united in marriage with Avis Brandlee. They moved to Claremont, SD. Morris worked for a farmer. In 1969, Morris married Lorene Shannon and they resided in Stratford, SD. Morris worked for a local farmer before moving to Ashley, ND, where he began farming on his own dairy farm, which he enjoyed very much. He milked cows for about 18 years. He married Darlene Bucholz in 1998. They bought an acreage near Wilmot, SD. He was united in marriage with Martha Madden on October 13, 2019, and they have since resided on the farm.
In addition to farming, Morris had a rain gutter business and worked as a carpenter for over 20 years in the Wilmot area. He was a member of Zion Community Church. Morris enjoyed playing the mandolin and enjoyed music jamborees. He loved his farm animals and raising livestock. He enjoyed watching RFD TV and Molly B Polka Parties. He enjoyed traveling, playing Skippo and working puzzles. Most importantly, Morris adored his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Morris is survived by his wife, Martha of Wilmot, SD; his children: Darlene Hyke of Huron, SD; Dennis (Dana) Blocker of South Mills, NC; Randy (Frances) Blocker of Pueblo, CO; Lori Blocker of Ashley, ND; Sharon (Patrick) Meile of Brandon, SD; Perry (Rebecca) Blocker of Bath, SD; Gary (Shelly) Blocker of Hosmer, SD; Les Blocker of Stevensville, MT; step-children: Siglinda Corcoran of Midland, TX; Sharlene Reinke of Ashley, ND; Norma (Bob) Mosbrucker of Ashley, ND; Jeffery Shannon of Ashley, ND; Melanie Troupe of Ashley, ND; Brice (Jacki) Christians of Fargo, ND; Faron Christians of Illinois; Wayne Hogan of Hammond, IN; Clint Hogan of Hammond, IN; Michelle Hogan of West Fargo, ND; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: brothers: John Blocker of Huron, SD; and Lyle Blocker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents: Percy and Myrtle Blocker; his wives: Avis Blocker and Darlene Blocker; sister, Rita Ann Donahue; daughter, Denise Mills; stepdaughters: Debbie Heuscher and Joan Meidinger; two grandsons: Michael Allen Beausiphus Blocker and Matthew Hogan; and granddaughter, Erica Pantoja
